If imperfections are keeping you from a proud, confident smile, Green Leaf Dental has cosmetic options to correct a wide range of dental issues. The best way to decide which option is best for your particular situation is to come in for a consultation with Dr. Yoni. During your consultation, one of our Seattle dentists will discuss what issues you would like to correct and go over treatment options with your budget and your needs in mind. Whether your teeth are discolored, cracked, or chipped — even if you’re missing teeth — we have cosmetic and restorative dentistry options that will make you smile.
Dental crowns are used to protect damaged teeth, cover discolored teeth, or improve the appearance of a tooth’s shape or alignment. Porcelain and ceramic crowns look natural because the materials are so similar to that of a real tooth. They can be matched to the color and shape of your existing teeth with great precision. Once your custom crown is created, it is permanently placed over your damaged, discolored, or misshapen tooth to improve the overall appearance of your smile.
If your teeth are misshapen, or you’re dealing with gaps or chips, Green Leaf Dental offers bonding and reshaping services to even out your smile and boost your confidence. During reshaping treatments, our dentists will remove enamel to produce the desired shape and even your teeth out for proper bite and alignment. Bonding involves building up resin on the teeth to restore chips or gaps. The resin is colored to match your existing teeth for a natural look, and then set for a permanently, beautiful smile.
Veneers can be used to correct a number of common cosmetic issues that keep patients from smiling confidently. Whether your teeth are chipped, stained, misaligned, worn down, uneven or abnormally spaced, Green Leaf Dental offers a solution with our porcelain veneers. Veneers are custom-made and bonded to your natural teeth to create a straight, bright smile that can last for decades.
Sometimes the only thing that stands between you and a bright, confident smile is a simple teeth whitening treatment. Green Leaf Dental offers both in-office and take-home options that can offer life-changing results – like brightening your smile up to 10 shades. Our professional-grade whitening may be just what you need. Contact us today to learn more.
The terms “gum lift” and “cosmetic crown lengthening” refer to the same procedure. This is a minor dental surgery that’s done to reduce the prominence of your gums and make your teeth look longer, improving the overall appearance of your smile.
In this procedure, your Seattle dentist at Green Leaf Dental will use dental tools to trim away some of the natural gum material away from the base of your tooth. This exposes more of the tooth’s surface, which can transform your smile.
People who have a “gummy smile” often choose to have this procedure done to improve the appearance of their smile. If your gums extend very far around your teeth, this can make them look short, and also reveal a lot of gum tissue when you smile, leading to an imbalanced smile. This is particularly troublesome if your lip curls upward significantly when you smile.
This can make you feel self-conscious about your appearance because your smile will look unbalanced. A gum lift or cosmetic crown lengthening is ideal for this situation. By trimming away some of the gum tissue and revealing more of the tooth, you’ll enjoy a more balanced and appealing smile.
Even if you don’t have large or prominent gums, cosmetic crown lengthening can still be used to reshape your smile and improve its overall appearance. In some cases, it may be done alongside other cosmetic treatments like veneers, dental bonding, or cosmetic porcelain dental crowns.
The treatment procedure for a gum lift or cosmetic crown lengthening is quite simple to understand, and it usually takes less than an hour after your mouth has been prepared.
To begin the procedure, Dr. Yoni will clean your mouth thoroughly and use a local anesthetic to numb your mouth. We also offer sedation for your comfort. Once your mouth is fully numb and you can’t feel anything, the treatment will begin.
Dr. Yoni will use specialized surgical instruments to remove some of the gum tissue and reshape your smile based on the specifics of your treatment plan. As the gum tissue is trimmed away, more of your natural enamel and tooth material will be exposed.
Once all of your gum tissue has been trimmed, your mouth will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized to reduce the risk of infection. Then, sutures will be applied to hold the gum tissue in place and to encourage it to heal properly.
You will also receive a set of post-operative instructions that you will need to follow to heal and recover from your gum lift. Make sure to follow these closely to heal and recover. Within about 7-10 days, you’ll come back to Green Leaf Dental to have your stitches taken out, and you’ll also get a follow-up to check on your healing and recovery in about 4-6 weeks.
